History Carnival of ramacca

The Carnival of Ramacca is a cultural event of great importance, characterized by parades of floats, masked groups and numerous side activities. The event has seen significant growth in terms of participation and organisation over recent years. For example, the 2025 edition includes seven allegorical wagons in competition, a prize pool of 40,000 euros and the involvement of more than 1,000 people including artists, carristi and volunteers.

One novelty of this edition is the introduction of the “Ramacco” logo, designed and created by the carristi themselves, to symbolize the identity and authenticity of the local tradition. In addition, from 1 to 4 February, at the Museum of Musical Bands of Sicily, there is the exhibition “Carnival in Mostra – Smiles and allegory of Sicily”, an exhibition of miniature rolling paper carts, organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Carnevale di Acireale.

The Ramacca Carnival is not only a festive moment, but also an important occasion for social inclusion and promotion of the territory, strengthening the cultural identity of the community and attracting visitors from different regions.
